Sleep Apnea
Here at Grand Blanc Dental Center, we work hard to help our patients who have sleep apnea. People who have sleep apnea never get the rest that they deserve. They have trouble breathing which constantly wakes them up throughout the night. Many people who have sleep apnea have multiple health problems. They are always exhausted. Being tired can affect people at home and at work. They may be miserable and have trouble concentrating. Sleep apnea can also affect their blood pressure, making them more likely to have strokes. There is a big risk with anesthesia since they have trouble breathing.
There are some devices that can be helpful with sleep apnea. They help patients by keeping their airways open at night. There is also a procedure that can be performed if you have extra tissue in your throat. It reshapes your throat so that you can breathe much better.
If you have any questions about how we can help you with your sleep apnea, feel free to contact us today at (810) 694-0200.

TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction)
Here at Grand Blanc Dental Center, we are proud to offer Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) treatments for our patients.
If you have TMJ, it probably started with pain and discomfort in your jaw joint and the muscles used to move your jaw. Pain and discomfort do not always signal a problem and usually go away on their own.
However, if you are having headaches, trouble chewing, and pain in the face, jaw, and ear, you may be experiencing symptoms of TMJ. Some people complain about an uncomfortable bite. Some even feel dizzy or a pain in their neck.
Most people try to treat the symptoms at home with pain relievers and ice packs. However, dentists can help you if your home remedies are not working. We often suggest trying mouth guards, though you may need surgery or implants.
If you are suffering from TMJ, don’t hesitate to contact us today. We will schedule an appointment so we can discuss your options. We will do everything we can to help you have a beautiful, pain-free smile!

Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom tooth extraction is an important procedure that has become a rite of passage for many teens and young adults due to a variety of reasons. The wisdom teeth, or third molars, are typically the last teeth to come in and there is often not enough room for them to grow properly. When there is not enough space for the wisdom teeth to develop, they may cause other oral health problems, become impacted (unable to break through the jawbone or gum tissue), or may grow at an incorrect angle.
At Grand Blanc Dental Center, we are proud to offer our wisdom teeth extraction services to you or a loved one. Though we commonly recommend wisdom teeth extraction early on to teens and young adults when their wisdom teeth begin to erupt, we can also treat older patients who may develop problems with their wisdom teeth later on in life. If you experience any pain concerning your wisdom teeth, do not ignore it and call us immediately.
Common dental problems associated with wisdom teeth include but are not limited to:
- Disturbing the natural tooth alignment
- Damage to surrounding teeth
- Tooth decay
- Infection and inflammation of gums
- Formation of cysts
- Damage to the jaw bone
Dentists may recommend wisdom teeth extraction to avoid these complications and to keep your smile healthy. We will carefully evaluate your smile including the position of your teeth to determine whether you would benefit from tooth extraction. We offer several options for sedation and anesthesia so that your wisdom teeth extraction is as painless and comfortable as possible.
